I am a qualified, registered, and accredited person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist working in Tooting Broadway, Southwest London, United Kingdom (Tooting SW17).
I offer a safe, accepting, understanding, and non-judgemental space to help explore what is going on for you at your own pace. Choosing the right professional to help you is important. In order to help you make a decision, I offer an opportunity to speak by phone, online, or in-person to introduce myself and to answer any questions you may have. My contact information can be found below.
The Way I Work
My approach to counselling is the person-centred approach which belongs to the humanistic school of therapy and was founded by Carl Rogers, an American psychologist, in the 1950s. Having a genuine, understanding, empathic, and supportive person to speak with about issues that are troubling you can lead to improvements in self-growth, understanding, acceptance and overall greater awareness and flow within yourself. I view you as the expert and will work alongside you to facilitate your explorative journey in a respectful, loving, and non-directive manner. I believe in and I have experience of this way of working providing opportunity and space for real inner change and for the emergence of a more self-loving, self-confident, self-trusting, and self-aware way of being.
As an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I abide by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
I work with individuals and couples and have experience of working with people from a wide range of backgrounds across a range of issues. Some of the areas which I have experience of helping people with include:
- Poor mental health
- Low feelings
I also have experience of working with other life issues and I have significant experience of working in the LGBTQI community including over 10 years of previous volunteer helpline work in the UK and the USA.
Training and Qualifications
I have successfully completed the following training courses:
Certificate in Counselling Skills (City Lit, London)
Diploma in Practitioner Counselling, Person-Centred Approach (City Lit, London)
Advanced Post Diploma in Person-Centred Couples Counselling (Counselling Works, Milton Keynes)

Additional Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Training:

I work from my practice in Tooting Broadway in Southwest London. Tooting Broadway is nearby to Tooting Bec, Colliers Wood, Balham, Clapham, Streatham, and Wimbledon and well accessed by public transport. My practice is located in between Tooting Broadway underground (tube) station and Tooting railway station, about a 5-10 minute walk from each. Street permit parking is in operation from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Saturday.
My practice is on the first floor and is not wheelchair accessible unfortunately. If wheelchair accessibility is a requirement I would be happy to let you know of other counselling/psychotherapy practices in the local area which are wheelchair accessible, or alternatives can be considered as below.
Alternatives to the Counselling Room
In addition to indoor work, I also offer therapy outdoors. Outdoor therapy is a great alternative to indoor therapy, either as a once-off along with indoor therapy sessions or as regular sessions in their own right. If you are interested in outdoor therapy please let me know and I would be happy to discuss it with you further. The southwest London SW17 and surrounding areas have some lovely green spaces such as Tooting Commons, Wimbledon Common, Clapham Common, and Mitcham Common which are perfect for outdoor therapy.
I also offer therapy by phone, messaging, and online video calls - these can be very helpful if it is difficult for you to attend in person for any reason.
If you would like further information or would like to speak initially by phone, online, or in person, please contact me using the information below or by completing the contact form. I will aim to respond to your contact within 24 hours.
