Jeremy O'Sullivan
Counselling/Psychotherapy & Supervision
Welcome
Perhaps you are going through a tough time and would like to speak with someone in confidence. Maybe life is not fully great right now and you'd like support. Perhaps you just want someone to listen to what is going on for you, to explore and help make sense of things. I would like to help.
I am a person-centred counsellor/psychotherapist and supervisor based in Tooting Broadway in Southwest London, UK (Tooting SW17). I work from my counselling room, online/by phone, and also outdoors in nature. I offer a safe, accepting, understanding, and non-judgemental space to help explore what is going on for you at your own pace. Such a space can be just what is needed sometimes. I offer an opportunity to speak initially to introduce myself and to answer any questions you may have. My contact information can be found here.
The Way I Work
My approach to counselling is the person-centred approach which belongs to the humanistic school of therapy. Having a genuine, understanding, empathic, and supportive person to speak with about issues that are troubling you can lead to improvements in self-growth, understanding, acceptance and overall greater awareness and flow within yourself. I view you as the expert and will work alongside you to facilitate your explorative journey in a respectful, loving, and non-directive manner. I believe in and I have experience of this way of working, providing opportunity and space for real inner change and for the emergence of a more self-loving, self-confident, self-trusting, and self-aware way of being.
As an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I abide by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
My Experience
I offer individual therapy and couples therapy and have experience of working with people from a wide range of backgrounds across a range of issues. I have experience of working with:
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) and Straight people
- Anxiety, stress and depression
- Relationship issues
- Sexuality

I have significant experience of working in the LGBT community since 2000 in both the UK and the USA.

Location
I work from my practice room in Tooting Broadway in Southwest London, which is nearby to Tooting Bec, Colliers Wood, Balham, Clapham, Streatham, and Wimbledon and is well accessed by public transport. My practice is located in between Tooting Broadway tube station and Tooting railway station, about a 5-10 minute walk from each. Street permit parking is in operation from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Saturday.
My room is on the first floor and is not wheelchair accessible. If wheelchair accessibility is a requirement I would be happy to let you know of other counselling/psychotherapy practices in the local area which are wheelchair accessible, or alternatives can be considered such as below (online/phone and sessions outdoors).
Online/Phone and Sessions in Nature/Outdoors
I also offer sessions online, by phone and in the outdoors. For online sessions I use a premium online video call service to ensure maintaining confidentiality.
Therapy sessions out in nature/outdoors are a great alternative to indoor therapy, either as a once-off along with indoor therapy or as regular sessions in their own right. If you are interested in nature/outdoor therapy please let me know and I will be happy to discuss it with you further. The southwest London SW17 and surrounding areas have some lovely green spaces such as Tooting Common, Wimbledon Common, Clapham Common, and Mitcham Common, which are perfect for therapy outdoors.
